Anyway I think its better storywise for Uruto is meet the current strongest trainer in the world so he can set his sight on them as his goal since he wants to be the strongest trainer in the world instead of running after a Black Rayquaza because that is what Roy is doing. Rayquaza is not even the strongest pokemon , especially not the weak Black Rayquaza that gets knock down by a flame charge from a level 5 Fuecoco. Even the Lugia from JN series felt like an actual legendary compared to Black Rayquaza.

Idk what you mean I haven’t watched much of the new anime. In the OG series Ash is just some hot blooded rookie with minimal talent and then world champion less than a year later, it’s obvious the creators never wanted to do that. Liko was created to be a protagonist with a less concrete goal so that people wouldn’t try to force power scaling as hard.

And then he went to have 26 years of character development , hard work, effort and growth before he became a champion. Just because nobody ages on Ashnime does not mean time does not pass as proven by Burnet baby being born between SM and JN series. Pretty much like how time passes on Detective Conan but nobody has aged on that series.

All of the regional champions are defeated and the plot were resolved by the player characters. What he's talking about were the likes of real world champions, like WolfVC and such.

I doubt it with Carmine still being a racist, past & future form paradox pokemon being present on Area Zero and Briar taking one year to write the book on Terapagos which she accomplished within hours on the game that the player traded with Professor Turo/Saba for their Violet/Scarlet book.

Its funny how many times Leon is mentioned on Z-A while hardly anybody on Lumiose city talks about Diantha.

I think Lance is in a similar situation except he never got distracted. The only thing he cares about is dragons (and capes). He wants to be the best at dragons, and he is. Most of the best Pokémon are dragons, so he also happens to be one of the best in the world overall, but that's not the point.

Why use something other than a dragon to retain the world champion title? That wouldn't make him any better at dragons.
