this game feels like half formed dlc plans that had to be its own game nowadays due to tech constraints with the online play. battling online against other players is like...my least favorite thing. i battle npc trainers when i have to, but i prefer exploration and catching pokemon.
i was so excited for this game even with the online play locking mega stones, and pre-release dlc being sold. i am just kinda...disappointed. i am having fun but that's by ignoring the battling until i have to battle to progress the story.
on another note, after you first visit the looker bureau and do the 3 side missions, you can run around without turning them in and it won't change time. same with delivering lida's belongings - the time won't change until you battle her. i haven't found another yet. i'm just gonna continue toodling around, completing mable's research, getting colorful screws, and all that.
