So like, Gamefreak must hate Nintendo, right? There's some weird corporate drama, surely? And doing stuff just good enough to make a good game but with lots of obvious cut corners is some passive aggressive attack? They released an overabundance of goofy Mega designs because it does a good job at "appealing to wider audiences" even at the expense of some goodwill from older fans who don't want to see their favorites become the butt of a joke for internet virality?

Why would they release a game specifically on another console? They know their only fanbase is on Nintendo, so it feels like such a dumb move from every perspective. They can go wherever, but the optics of not sticking with your decades long partners are bad.
