>>58459289I think he's right and once I saw him point that out it made the mega designs make a lot more sense to me. Like I'm pretty out of the loop on Gen 6 as a whole and only really saw the mega forms in images. My first thought seeing them was that they look strange/random and (most of the time, there are some exceptions) not really like an "upgrade" to the mon, more that they're just slapping on random features in a haphazard way.
Learning they're generally supposed to look like X or Y answered the question of why they look so weird that had been in the back of my mind all along, and made some of the "random" additions like spikes or whatever seem a lot less random since they're trying to make the mon's shape better match a letter.
I'm still not crazy about a lot of mega designs, but now I feel like I finally get what they're actually going for.
