Here me out, a Legends Unova set 200 years into the future.
Story pitch: In the future, Ghetsis and Team Plasma mysteriously re-emerged and conquered Unova this time. Technology under Plasma's reign advances exponentially and new redevelopments of cities such as Castelia City, Nimbasa City, Driftveil City, and Black City were made. At a cost, Pokemon were liberated from trainers, with the exception of Plasma members, and were sent to wild areas across the region. Trainers who still own pokemon were viewed as outlaws and were shunned by this new society.
In this future, you play as a time traveler sent by a unknown wormhole, who crosses paths with a rebel team group that wishes to free Unova from Ghetsis' tyranny. You sneak into the forbidden wild area zones, catch as many pokemon as you want, persuade and recruit npcs to joining your group and provide them with the pokemon you caught.
Eventually, you find out that this Ghetsis isn't really the real him but a AI powered android replica created by the descendant of one of the Shadow Triad brothers, who admired Ghetsis' cause. They have captured Victini, and is currently using it's infinite energy as a source to fuel their own original dragon for the purpose of conquering other regions. Along the way, you are guided by the Swords of Justice and a descendant of N to find Kyurem and the legendary dragon stones to bring back the original dragon in order to stop Team Plasma.
Gimmick: Convergents with some new future paradox forms. Starters would be convergent forms of the Sinnoh starter trio. And as it turns out, Plasma are responsible for creating the future paradox pokemon, and they use them as guards for the wild areas. They will be the bosses of the game.
A bit ambitious and fanfiction-y, but it's something that I thought would be cool to see for a Unova threequel.
