People complained when it came to annual games, and they spent more time on them afterwards. The result is that Origin was well received and the only controversial game was Shadow, and that was only for political reasons.
Now, what would happen if people all decided to complain about Pokémon? Would Game Freak do something else? Every time they tried that, their games were simply ignored and/or criticised. I only remember Little Town Hero because the game sold so poorly on Switch that they tried to release it on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Their next game, even though it looks better, will still fail because even in the trailer, the game runs very poorly at less than 20 frames per second. Just complain, they will not notice you for protecting them and they just can't run away to do something else. And it's not like you're asking for GTA graphics and techniques, Nihon Falcom or Gust is enough.
