>>58479473I'm struggling to find it right now due to the sheer amount of documents I'm having to sift through and I'm also not remembering where the fuck in the leaks thread it was that the gen 8 concept for the starters was outlined, but point was even the scrapped concept for the gen 8 Fire starter fit within the zodiac theory with it originally being a Fire-type dog, but Gamefreak realized they already had Fennekin, a fox, but they're technically "dog-like", so they turned the then Grass-type bunny starter into a Fire-type. Also the original concept for the Water starter was some undisclosed prehistoric animal, very likely something like a Plesiousaur because of Nessie, sadly we didn't get concept art of gen 8 so there's no way of knowing.
