i found 2 in the postgame so far wish it was earlier but it was a snorunt and a litleo. i'm planning on levelling every possible mega up to around 80ish so they're nice to have. snorunt will become a glalie because i already have a fully decked out mega froslass

Okay seriously, how is this one side mission with the 10 course restaurant possible? All of their Pokémon attack like 3 times before I can even do 1 move and all the early battles just spam status effects so by the end everything i have just dies the second it comes out. This feels impossible, am I just terrible? All my guys are like level 70 too.

Bring something immune to poison for the first fight. You can sorta cheese the queue windows if you have a move with a fast animation or something with long range like heat wave while you’re out of their range. I throw Protect on a lot of mons for real fights because it lets me scout their SE coverage move.

I did it first try right after beating the game by leading with Mawile. I just got lucky for that, lead with something immune to toxic so you don’t get a timer put on you for the fight.

He's still on my team as a Watchog, gave him an assault vest to match his safety vest.
Currently level 82 and has all 3 elemental punches + crunch. Why the fuck doesn't it learn Body Slam though.

Floette. It was kind of a perfect time too.

Had five slots of my team taken, and figured I'd add the sixth soon. Decided instead of walking around Wild Zone 7, I'd walk through it and see if I find anything nice. Heard the sound and immediately caught her and knew she had to be on my team. Even feels like she fit the theme of the team since I named them all after things relating to the character my protag is based on and there was a nice name that fit her

Depends on what counts, does getting AZ floette count as the end of does shiny charm?
Since you need to win 15 infinite royales the former can take a bit, also legendary quests which don't take that long.

In terms of story content, not super long. There's a few things to unlock and completionist stuff to do though (colorful screws, dex completion, side quests, Infinite Z-A Royale). And of course, online battles. Give those a try if you haven't, they're genuinely nothing like previous games online battles, trust me.

Did you complete the area? Random alphas only spawn after you fill in the wildlife guide on the map. Don’t need to catch the existing alphas for this since they are excluded from it.

the camera app in this game is driving me insane

there is a very specific camera angle causes upturned eyes with the face tilted 45 degrees away from the camera that i’ve only managed to do three times and all three times the stupid pokemon refused to cooperate to get in the shot with their head in the middle of the photo, so i have to back out and reposition them, go back to the photo app and spend another 20 minutes trying to get the character to face the right way again

There's so many small things I wish they added to the photo app. Free positioning in third person would help so much, but also the ability to tell a Pokemon to stay still would be nice.

I'm also unsure why they removed the ability to interact with your follower mon that was in Scarlet and Violet. I always liked that. Didn't serve a function, but it was nice to have them acknowledge you. In this they just stare off into space.

The soundtrack is like a combination of Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade / EO Super Arrange and TotK. If you described it like that to me when and I knew nothing about, it would've thought that it's the best OST ever, but it all feels so dull yet a cacophony in-game.

I like the Rust Syndicate on an aesthetic level and I can see the bait and switch working if done properly but their role in the actual story is really sloppy and makes me wish it had been played a little straighter. They could've been a more mature version of Team Skull, a group of organized criminals who do bad things to ultimately achieve good results. Juxtapose them with Quasartico, a company seemingly doing good things for the city with ultimately nefarious intentions. As it is they go from being an actual threat to clearly being 100% harmless and good way too fast. Slow it down, let the player come to that conclusion themselves by seeing through the front they put up and actually looking at the results of their actions.

Also the way they're brought into the story is just too fucking stupid, I would've preferred introducing them in a way that didn't completely throw Taunie/Urbain's character under the bus. I was hoping the arc would end with her being sold into prostitution.

The NPCs have a hitbox that keeps you from getting too close to them, that’s why I want to know how people manage to clip through them. Even if you’re standing next to them and try to do a pose that involves stretching your arms forward, you get a message saying there’s not enough space for that.

Yes, basically you just have to run towards an NPC for a few seconds and it will let you pass through them. You have to time it right to stop, otherwise you'll get stuck. It's easier if there's an object or another NPC to help you create a "wall" to lean on, because if you don't control the character well, they can go sideways. I'm still practicing passing through an NPC that isn't surrounded by anything.

There's a reason XL Candies aren't renewable, and considering that Zygarde is a level 84 superboss fight, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if this'll be the first postgame that has fights that expect you to be Level 90-100.

The wording is awkward, but not quite "one way street".

Once a mon is sent to Z-A, it is no longer considered compatible with previous games. So you can't send them back to Scarlet and Violet/Sword and Shield etc. You can send them to and from Home and Z-A as much as you want, and (presumably) a mon that has been in Z-A can be in future games.

I've put 400 hours into Violet and 500 into Sword, so to be completely honest I don't think there's a lot for my long time bros to still do in them, so as much as it sucks they can't go back, I don't think I'll have much reason to.

I appreciated the pathological need to perform random acts of kindness in the beginning but then they hit her with the idiot stick with the loan stuff. I really do think this is a failure of the writing too because up to that point she seemed pretty savvy. She was a little naive but she wasn't stupid. Blame the fact that GameFreak is notoriously stubborn about compatibility patching their older games. I can't seem to find a good place to take a picture with the dog.

Lysandre labs was good for a cool background but I don't have ideas for a pose there. Roof of Hotel Z seemed appropriate but it's a little dull. The chintzy decor of the Hotel Z lobby is cozy but it's really annoying to get the tea set and dog in the frame.
