>>58485384>>I have mature saves on game A and game B. Which mons are inaccessible between those two? That's one of the features I'm planning on implementing, being able to account for other resources at your disposal is a huge part of planning for me
>>I can hover over the mons on the list, and it tells me:>>Which games DO have them>>What routes they're on>>At which levels>>Evolutionary line and methods (can be clicked to jump to them in the list)All in spec, I even have a tool rn that displays forms and shinies of the different sprites as well.
My goal as I'm writing code is partly to encapsulate the different acquisition methods available into one abstract framework, both for implementation reasons, but also to exploit the properties that representation would have as far as topological sorting and other nerd shit
>I know most of what I'm describing is basically just the Internet, but there's so much excess information to wade through on Bulbapedia and Serebii. They get the job done, but I wish there were something more lightweight than thirty browser tabs. This was my big reason for even doing this, it's really tiresome for each piece of information having to hunt it down, as well as figure out how to compare and organize different approaches. Having the ability to visualize a lot of this stuff as well is important. One of my biggest gripes in old games is how the pokedex doesn't show you routes -> list of available mons.
This project is very slow, PokeAPI isn't the best for what I am doing with the data, but compared to manual data entry it's far better.
There's a lot of implementation details I'm having to address with this that are taking some time, but progress is consistent.
I'd post some of my current iterations, but they're all CLI tools at best, which isn't convenient outside of development
