It's just to give the player a vague idea of the inspiration for a design or theme, without necessarily embodying it in a literal sense.
This implies that even though Pokémon has its own giants as a race, and therefore its own interpretation of the myth, the classification itself is more general as a concept and does not really imply any connection, nor that they are the same entities until proven otherwise.
You can say whatever you want, but your theory is based on nothing concrete. There is nothing but this sad classification that means everything and nothing. You have no dialogue in the games to support your headcanon, Teraleak also goes against it, and APL is nothing more than the final nail in the coffin with Blank Plate.
