He should’ve used Mega Blaziken and you should’ve been able to catch the Torchic line in the wild. This would’ve paralleled the launch period mystery gift Blaziken from X and Y.

Why would they? He is kept put of the way and at best a background character for 99% of the game so it wasn't really shilly. Not exactly a Leon situation with him.

I don't think a Mega Houndoom showed up, did it? His team wasn't fire themed anyway, it didn't need to be fire even if the character is associated with it

From what I've seen the people who hate Charizard were just relieved he didn't pull out Charizard Z. It's a shame a fire/dark ZardZ didn't happen honestly.

the point of it is that team flare has an ash motif and xzard is a fire type that matches that closest.

Unlike Leon and Sword/Shield, talking about Charizard isn't part of his personality and Charizard thematically fits his team.

>We see his Charizard just standing there near the beginning of the game
>We don't see anything about his team for the next 15 hours of game
>He keeps throwing pseudos and coolmons at you
>Reveal Megazard at the very end of the battle

His team is pretty soulful.
