I do expect them to make expansions consistently though, probably starting with Hoenn, then Sinnoh, then Kitikami and the space between Sinnoh, before finally working their way down. Unless they really want to expand out from Kanto+Johto and make more work for themselves making brand new shit immediately (at this point Pokemon 2 can barely be used as a base aside from using a few key important Japanese towns they haven't used so far).
