None of these motherfuckers are competent nor care about battling. They're all hack frauds and despite Mega Evolution "originating" from Kalos, it's actually a low power level shithole other leagues wouldn't take seriously. Judging by the NPCs in this game, it seems like the entire Elite Four retired or went into hiding in Malva's case

Didn't they have the Pokemon World Tournament with a bunch of cameos? Why can't the ZA Royale also have a bunch of cameos? We see more npcs at the Battle Tree. I don't particularly care if they show up in the main story.

Also in Mastersex, the Sinnoh protags are much weaker than game MCs and its her who went into DW and personally defeated Cyrus there (this might also be when she caught Giratina that she has in Masters)

Have you considered that it isn't a retcon? It's very likely that X, Y, and Z-A take place in their own separate continuities. Zygarde is said to very clearly interfere in the weapon launch of Z-A, both legendaries were captured. In USUM, we see Lysandre who has a successful weapon launch. I don't think the existence of alternative possibilities retcons the original stories of X and Y.
