Gens 1-4 let the evil team be a subplot instead of slapping you in the face with it every 5 steps
Gens 1-4 have an element of exploration instead of walk in circle
Gens 1-4 at least attempt to have a modicum of challenge in their gym leaders and elite 4
Gen 5 is easily the most phoned in, low effort game in the series, and unovabortions just eat it up
