Volo absolutely must have talked many times with Laventon and anyone affiliated with the Galaxy Team that he makes business with.

He's the only owner of his own costume, and being a member of the Ginkgo Guild like Cogita, it's also likely he has a specially long lifespan just like her.
Either that or time travel, doesn't really matter much, but his final piece of dialogue in PLA made it crystal clear he had the means to live far more than the average person.
