Watching the opening again after the ending makes a lot more sense.
Festival Missions:
The BW Entralink wasn’t well suited for competition due to lag and complexity. It also had the feel of “invading another player’s adventure.”
This time, the theme was resonance—playing together—so they created a system that allows large-scale multiplayer interaction.
Pokéstar Studios:
Originated from Mr. Umino’s idea: “I want to give a sense of Pokémon’s daily lives.”
They wanted to include an element for beginners—like an introduction to battles—by having Pokémon fight UFOs or giant robots.
The thought process was: “Let’s make it into a movie!”
■ Q&A Session (from the 2:00 p.m. segment)
Q1. How old are N and Cheren?
A1. N is 20 years old. Cheren is 14, the same as Touya, Touko, and Bel.
(It’s unclear whether this refers to the BW or BW2 point in time.)
Q2. What are Mr. Masuda’s and Mr. Umino’s favorite Pokémon? (from the new Unova Pokédex)
A2.
Umino: Likes the three monkeys (the designs).
Masuda: “Black Kyurem and White Kyurem’s fusion forms are really cool!”
Umino: “Stunfisk was so shocking, so let’s just say Masuda likes Stunfisk.”
Masuda: “Then sure, let’s go with that—I like Stunfisk (laughs).”
Umino: “I ended up buying a ton of Stunfisk goods, haha.”
Q3. There seem to be more small gags this time, like the face-cutout sign in Humilau City. Why?
A3. (Umino) “I drew things like the face-cutout signboards and the Marine Tube cross-section diagrams.
I wanted to add humor and small details to make the world feel more real.”
Q4. What about a Ruby/Sapphire remake?
A4.
Masuda: “Many people, including overseas fans, have been requesting it.
If we make it, we want to create something that satisfies everyone.”
Umino: “Well, there are still other things we want to make right now…”
