Yes? I spent triple digits worth of time in the multiplayer because I like playing as vorcha and batarians etc etc, but I also never touched it till after I beat the main game so I literally have no idea what you mean?

The only thing I can guess you're talking about is the rumor about needing to play it to get the "best ending" and that's hilarious because thanks to the mass effect 4 trailer we know the red ending is canon... aka the "best ending" is non-canon, so congrats on playing the multiplayer mode to get a fake ending my man.

I'd like to believe you meant how you could fight the collectors only in multiplayer, because that is bullshit that they weren't fightable in the main game.

It's because there's no way to proper SBMM or match based on pokemon. (I.E. if some new guy jumps right into multiplayer with their starters, they can be still matched against people who have fully evolved stuff like garchomp. Which is what happened to me)

This means multiplayer is gatekept to the end game since you also need to min max, and most people don't have time (normalfags with lives outside of games) or just want to take their time playing through the game that far to try to get the mega stone prize.
It makes perfect sense they lower it so as long as you do stuff, you'll earn enough points to get to S rank even if you lose all your matches.

Real answer here - they are adjusting rewards and points system in season 2. The most likely outcome is that people ranked up to rank A too fast so they are slowing down the progress to make people grind longer, also I suspect they are uping the rewards so the grind is at least netting you something.
This also explains why they dropped the mega stone requirement from K to S if they are making grind longer.

That was hardly a rumor. The Galactic Readiness score had a fucking multiplier that did fuck all if you didn't do multiplayer and If you wanted to get anywhere close to the best version of any ending you had to import a save that went through both ME1 and 2 and did as much as possible to get extra bits of score. Shit sidequests nobody fucking cares about also needed to be done, not just the good parts.

Only reason showdown still exists is because Pokémon had no official battle sim offering. Now they have, they're going to C'n'D showdown because it's an unofficial battle sim leeching off their IP. It doesn't matter Champions isn't EXACTLY the same as showdown, what matters is a bunch of gaijin spergs are using the IP for their own furtherance. if it was owned by Japanese, I'm sure they'd be willing to have dialogue to keep it friendly (much the same way Jap artists are allowed to sell porn comics of copyrighted IP's in limited runs) but as it's westerners and they can't be expected to understand, they get the C'n'D (that eeveeporn comic that got nuked because the dumb bastard drawing it was charging people to view it). Certain legendaries and exclusive pokemon like starters were only obtainable on certain games. Most legendaries not from a specific game version also had obtuse ways of being obtained like a code to activate an event, nowadays they usually do that through mystery gift.
If anything, ever since the switch era they’ve done away more and more with version exclusivity. Tera raid events have basically made every legendary and version exclusive available for example, the dlc lets you catch basically every previous legendary available in the game as well. Online features have made anything involving trading far more trivial and makes it easy for you to get version exclusives with a friend that way.
To be honest you really are just fucking delusional.

You could go without playing a single "ranked" match and get everything without issue.

i used an off meta team that are not iv/ev/nature optimized while being only halfway through the story and I still got A rank in like 2 hours of play. I rarely came in 1st place.

It is probably tricky for literal children using pikachu to get to A rank, so I'm fine with the stones being participation trophies. but let's not pretend it's in any way difficult. I would honestly appreciate more of a grind accompanied by better rewards for each rank up.

Honestly I'm of the opinion that getting rank A is way too easy, getting it is essentially trivial because you still climb up even if you come in 3rd or 4th in all your games. Compare that to how you actually did get punished for losing when going for master ball rank in both SV and SwSh
