>>58535711Eh, it's Death Battle. It's all about two characters, or two pairs of characters in this case, having a fight to the death, being in-character with the exception of willing to kill. So I'd guess they'd have Red go all out. Also the episode was made back during gen 6 so stuff from after wouldn't have been factored. But if they redid that matchup then they could have some of the newer stuff from the newer games... Hm...
>>58535730You're apply Digimon's system to Pokémon. The "Dragon Type" is a Pokémon concept, Digimon has it's own thing similar whatever it is but still not the same. Even then, by the time Red and Charizard even see Wargreymon, they'd know to really need to change things up, as then they would have seen what to them looks a Pokémon Evolve/change Forms more than once in one battle and both times to stronger looking creatures, not to mention if they had noticed Greymon devolve to Agumon which what would they even think of. I'm not really sure stuff like Type matchups would be much of a deciding factor here.
I was thinking more in that fight that the Pokémon side could have overwhelmed the Digimon side with Status Effects, attrition and the more clever tactics that would come from a Pokémon-human duo being in a fight to the death as opposed to a Pokémon Battle. Even then, it can be hard to say how powerful some Pokémon truly are as Pokémon Battles aren't to the death.
>>58535796You are correct. Pokémon have a stronger start than Digimon do. And even in the episode, it started with Agumon being basically useless against Charizard.
>>58536637>While Mega Charizard X had a huge FlamethrowerThis is a good example. It shows how impressive Pokémon can be. As the post from the link you posted said, Digimon can De-Digivolve which would indeed be a factor. They could have even ended the fight with Wargreymon De-Digivolving as a result of the fight and then Mega Charizard X makes the killing blow.
