gen 3, gen 6, and ALMOST gen 7 all have a better starter trio. Gen 4 is pretty high up there, too.

anyone who thinks they can or have is coping.
they've never managed to create a trio as iconic as them. Just like how many newer fans can't fathom just how big Pokemon was at its inception, it was everywhere, even more-so than now. Red & Blue are still the best selling games, very few franchises that old have their first game as the best selling one anymore, and yet here Pokemon is.

This is probably just a meme post but I dont think anyone on vp actually understands how popular these guys are. After spending the entire past year around the casual pokemon side, discords, normies, tcg, there is really no other group of Pokemon that have such recognition and fame as gen1 starters and gen1 in general
