To be fair AZ did say in his last letter that they can sell the hotel if they want, he didn't want to burden them with looking after a hotel with no business. It's only real purpose was to be his final home.

It might be resolved in the DLC. Either way, they're just in another city and have a reason to stay and help out. It's infinitely less egregious than the PLA MC's situation who you'd expect to be sent back to the future by Arceus but by the Daybreak update seemed to just have accepted being stranded in the past forever.

Urbain/Taunie are the biggest jerks between rivals but they can't perceive how much harm they cause to others. It's scary.
