>>58551107ZA so far by a long shot. I generally like Arceus, it's a lot better than any other Sinnoh game, solid 7/10, but the combat is RAW ASS. If you're going to replace a battle system as robust and scalable as Pokemon's it better at least be different, and "ghetto press turn" ain't it, which I assume is why the game de-emphasizes trainer battles so much and focus on the much more interesting traversal and stealth.
ZA's battle system is an actual sidegrade to the mainline, really fun and punchy and dynamic. And you still get the stealth and even some outright platforming. It's really cool to ditch "ride Pokemon" and finally return to your own Pokemon doing moves to clear obstacles, using the same interface you use to battle even.
ZA honestly feels like what we imagined mainline Pokemon on consoles would look like back in the Pokemania days. I like it a lot. I hope Gen 10 applies lessons from this formula to more of the traditional wilderness exploration the series usually uses.
