Game Freak has a policy to never mention protagonists ever again, they must be the strong silent type that trains on the top of the mountains for eternity. Closest we get to an ending is if the Arceus worship outfit from Lumiose indeed was from the Legends Arceus MC after they theoretically return to present day. But most people suspect that's a hint to Volo returning to present day, not the MC

Mentioning the protagonist with more than a vague "someone who did this thing" means picking which of the two possible protags "canonically" went through the events, which they don't want to do.

The only MC who gets to show up after their adventure is Red, we came close with Herbert/Hilda showing up again but something happened in Black and White 2's development that made them chicken out
