The future of legends is gonna be controversial

The teraleak revealed we'll be getting Legends Galar in 2027/2028. It also made it clear that the game will Pikmin-like where you command a group of 30 Pokemon.

I'm worried that GF might cause the Mario/Zelda effect where the fanbase preferences split since each Legends game will be doing it's own thing gameplay wise. And then the fanbase bickers over the best style

Here's a summary of what we know about Legends Galar, I want to have a real discussion about the Legends series and where it's going in the future, and what it means for Game Freak and the series.

>Being prototyped by Game Freak’s Prototype Development Division as a candidate for the next Pokémon Legends title.
>It takes place in Galar, 1000 years before the modern era, long before the invention of Poké Balls.
>Set in an ancient civilization where humans and Pokémon coexist without formal Trainers, players will befriend Pokémon in the wild, forming groups and alliances to battle against enormous Dynamax Pokémon.
>Game’s central theme is “AI × Physics”, focusing on Pokémon behavior, group dynamics, and large-scale environmental interactions. Players explore Galar’s primeval landscapes — vast, untouched territories shaped by nature — and use their Pokémon’s unique abilities to survive and rebuild society.
(This is really important since generally their theme for a project is what they try and nail, so the reason they even chose Galar is to likely improve their Pokemon AI and physics system by developing this game, each game is a stepping stone for the next one development-wise)
>A key objective in the story is to create the very first Gigamax Poké Ball, using local materials and ancient crafting techniques. Concept art shows early prototypes of sealing stones and primitive containment devices forged by hand, hinting at how Poké Ball technology began.
