I thought you can only manually save, and that save gets overwritten by auto save. I was asking if it autosaves in between starting a challenge ticket match and receiving the reward, to know if it's possible to reset to get something different.

Anon ever since autosave was implemented (it wasn't mandatory until now, but it was still a thing before) they added the option to load a hard save separated from the autosaves, you just have to press Up, B and X at same time in the title screen.
For Z-A these backup saves are created when you are done talking to the Pokémon Center lady, so while you can't conveniently hard save at absolutely any time you can do stuff that autosaves the game and still go back as if nothing happened and appear in the last Pokémon Center visited.

I think I've just discovered dupe glitch. The first Shiny Alpha Lopunny was taken to Vert 8 before capture and nothing happened. The second Shiny Female Alpha Lopunny I caught today was Naive and brought to and captured at Zone 1. I immediately went back to Zone 18 to bench farm some more but another Shiny Female Alpha Lopunny appeared. Highly lucky maybe? I also took this one to Zone 1 for capture. Again it was Naive but also the IVs are exactly the same. I fly back to zone 18 and another Shiny Female Alpha Lopunny is there. There is absolutely no way I am this lucky. I haven't taken this one back to Zone 1 yet but I will not be surprised if it has the exact same IVs and Naive nature as the previous two.

Maybe there's something with dragging an Alpha to Zone 1 that makes the original respawn location think it hasn't been captured yet? Maybe there's also a distance factor and Alphas near Zone 1 can't be duped? Please test.

This was already known and likely what got people to figure out the original spawn increase glitch.
Word of warning though, tpc doesn’t like people cloning and transferring clones to home and it’s easy to detect

Getting the outbreak is worse than the actual hunt, to me at least. Sodden is the only weather mark I’m missing, besides the sun one from Sword and Shield, but that’s something else. Somehow I lucked out and got a few thunderstorm marks not too long ago.

Ah yeah, regular marks I ignore, as I do regular shinies. At least in S/V. My main goal would be getting a full rain team with complete marks, but one hunt for a sodden sinistcha shiny was enough.
Didn't stop me from trying, though. I managed to get a thunderstruck duralodon by trading away a legendary a while back too.

I timed Fennekin in the previous thread, if you're on Switch 2 then bench and respawn are essentially the same time.
I'd go with bench so you can also get shinies of everything else in the zone though.

The game does feel like it skews the odds towards certain Pokemon more than others. You can go to a place where a bunch of different Pokemon spawn, yet it's the single Pidgey or Fletchling nearby that ends up being Shiny.

I need two Pansage and two Panpour. I do have them in FS on X, but even in Gen 7, going back to hunt in 6 was a pain in the hole, so I really don't want to hunt the cunts there. That's not how probability works.
Each spawn has it's own independent roll. Having more pokemon there gives you more opportunity to have a shiny appear faster, but doesn't make any one individual pokemon instance more or less likely to be shiny.

My point is, why not just inject it then say "oh hey, I found this thing randomly" like the rest the cloutchasers, if you're just going to cheat the game into acting outside intended actions? It is the best way to get shiny Alphas, but I also think that the Pokemon pool there in general is pretty decent. Before I knew about this exploit I got TTar, Sylveon, Gardevoir (sadly, male) and Clefable. And some of these do end up benefitting from bigger hitboxes on their moves for rankekd battles.

Tyrantrum isnt an alpha that spawns in zone 20, and the only way to get Tyrunt (fossil method) isnt affected by the shiny charm. So yes, its incredibly difficult to get a shiny alpha (unless you're using pkhex, of course).

I don't think you even have to see it. I'm pretty sure it's usually spawning when you fast travel since you can hear/see them when it's an alpha. There is maybe one spot it can spawn where it doesn't though I'm not totally sure either way fast travel spamming is probably faster than checking each time

Jumbo has a separate cry and the size forms all have a set alpha size just the regular ones change around. Anyway you can just check the pokedex when you catch one and it'll be set to the most recent size you caught.

Spikes and stealth rock can be spammed, but there's so many steel types running around its rare to get anything poisoned.

Since getting the charm yesterday morning at 4 AM, in the 4-ish hours of actual gameplay in the intervening 22 hours, I've found 5 shinies of various pokémon, vs the 11 found in the time between launch and yesterday morning. Anyone on the fence about going for it, grind it out.
Grand, nothing I've found is anything I've been looking for yet, but point remains. All the pre-charm shinies were all shit I had already caught for my living dex prior too.

Nine times out of ten the pokemon won't follow me to the edge, when they do they tend to run back home at the speed of fucking light, and then after following the guide to a T it decides "mmm no actually you didn't do it correct" and returns everything to normal.
