You're right about the Mew/Mewtwo mythos, that's probably something they'll touch on in order to finally resolve the notion of "Mew gave birth." since people really love clinging onto the idea that this was a literal shat out from a vagina birth, and there's also the persisting history of Oak's escapades researching Pokemon in his youth, which are still touted as massive, revolutionary affairs that would go on to influence the Pokemon World as a whole.
