>>58566708The "take the raw concepts at face value" approach is why I can't take Regignosis seriously, because doing so comes with the inherent notion that Arceus is actually this unfathomably cruel, selfish and malicious being who actively chose to let 17-18 (possibly more, possibly less) beings, the Primordial Giants, be subject to an eternity of pure agony because they only attacked Arceus out of a fear of existence after only knowing eternity of nonexistence prior, which means Arceus outright decided its singular cry of "I want to LIVE!" is more valuable than the multiple cries of "We want to CEASE!"; Even if those Giants were killed, they still "exist" by virtue of the experience being formative and defining to Arceus and how it would create the universe, so they're still suffering even after death.
It's far easier to imagine the Giants were reworked into additional aspects of Arceus itself, seeing as how they ultimately come from the same mass that was birthed into being (Arceus within the egg, the Giants being the eggshell that protected and nurtured Arceus), and when Arceus was born proper, it had no aim or direction for how to create, so it imbued the eggshell with a will, that will split into the Giants, and they all decided to test their abilities on each other for the fun of it and came to the simple realization of "Holy shit, battling is fucking awesome! We should create life that enjoys battling as much as we do!" before merging together into the omnipotent being we know proper.
