Masuda's biggest flaw as a director is that he actually did care way too much about the opinions of internet whiners. The reason why Unova's region design was so streamlined and somewhat more linear than previous games is because of all the normalfags who bitched online about Mt. Coronet. Likewise, the reason why XY spent so much of its playtime deepthroating Kanto instead of telling its own story or showing the new content is because of all the genwunners who screeched "WHERE'S MUH CHARIZARD?"
