I enjoy battling in Z-A but I do think it has some jank. I'd personally like to see a short global cooldown to make things at least a little less spammy (I'm talking like an extra second or two) and some other changes to make speed feel a bit less useless.
Also would love to see slightly increased control over positioning (pokemon moves to the direction of your character the analog stick is facing when positioning for a ranged attack, etc.) and of course abilities implemented.
What I want most from the combat though is an option to do 1v1s online, if they could retune combat slightly I'd like any future game that uses this system to also provide the option to have something a bit more similar to pokemon battles online against other players, where you lose if all your pokemon are KOd, since battles are a bit too quick as-is, if that cant be adjusted, just a built in best 2/3 ruleset to accomodate the faster speed might make matches feel meatier.
