Garchomp really just ran around unopposed, swords dancing and then earthquaking for 2 kills at a time, or winning duels by dodging with dragon rush+mega evo
Xerneas keeps Skarmory, talonflame, gyrados in check as well as garchomp but has to set up and it's more frail than it looks. it also doesn't have the adaptiveness that garchomp has. if you see garchomp, you have no idea if its berry, vest, mega, swords dance, firefang, rock slide, dig, etc.
With Xerneas, it's 90% of the time geomancy, tbolt, moon blast, and focus blast or psychic.
