We use the life energy of Pokémon, which enables Mega Evolution, as fuel to power submarines or rockets and not just a weapon that grants eternal life or destruction through legendary powers. It also seems to be able to open up alternative worlds.
Or Dynamax energy, which is used to power Galar with electricity and other energy resources. This is the source of mushrooms, the Dynamax phenomenon, the energy points in the gyms, Dyna tree, it slighty distorts spacetime in enormous quantities.and so on.
It's simply common for an energy source with its properties to be used in a derivative way, like fuel, without necessarily having any connection to what it's powering, or for it to affect Pokémon and nature with various effects, and that's not a figment of the imagination (any mechanic can be justified with that).
