And then the french call the move Trou Dimensionnel (Dimensional Hole) and the DLC Méga-Dimension (Mega-dimension) so it looks alright, but they call the city Extra Illumis (Extra Lumiose) lmao

Descriptions of Hoopa have always referred to moving things in space. He seems to be able to manipulate spatial dimensions.
Even Palkia, who rules this realm, has stories of multiple dimensions.

Oh it can be explained, pretty easily in fact. The DLC and the city it features use a similar nomenclature as Hoopa's signature move, to neatly indicate the fan the whole thing ties to Hoopa's powers. Frog and burger translations are just inconsistent and fail at something this simple.

I can't help it if you need the exact same word for you to understand, because you're not connecting the dots or reading the dialogue.
It doesn't change anything and doesn't distort the plot. So, calling it incompetence because of a minor detail about a name is an exaggeration.

Especially since being linked to something doesn't necessarily mean naming it after the thing it's linked to.
I don't need Altar of the Sunne to be called Altar of Solgaleo; it's self-explanatory when you read the story (I know that in Japanese it means Altar of the Sunne, but I'm talking about the general idea). So as long as it doesn't impact the story itself, well, who care.
