There is this mentally ill shipfaggot who hanged out on the anime general for years now, who is so deluded he pushes this myth by saying that Pokeshipping isn't real, and that its an invention by 4kids. He is very insistent about this talking point despite that its very easy to debunk.
Like all you have to do is look up the original Japanese version of Pokemon and see that its clearly bullshit. All you have to do is see OLM previous works on Wedding Peach and Yaiba, or even being aware of shojo/anime romance trope, and clearly see that some writers were toying with the idea with episodes like Maiden Peak and the Haunter/Gengar tower episode. So why tell such a blatant lie just because 4kids would do its own things with the Pokemon Album or Pokemon Live thing?
Like, just think about how a grown ass man can be this deluded about made up relationships and how fans tended to pair Ash and Misty up that he would go to such lengths to push a blatant historical revision.
