Even the one thing Regional forms allegedly have over megas (always being available whenever the Pokémon is) was already broken with BDSP and will most likely be broken again because Game Freak are lazy bitchados.
ZA may have shat the bed with designing megas, probabaly because XY/ORAS were mostly megas for Pokemon they value the most so they couldn't afford to risk any of them becoming Skibbidied, while ZA megas were mostly for Pokemon that were still important but merely second string shillmons (or they would have gotten megas the first time around). but the principle stays the same.
