One key feature that always endeared me to Pokémon was not only battling and trading with other players, but also transfer one's pokémon from an older game to the newest.
Still amazes me that you are capable (even if with a couple of workarounds) of transferring your favourites, your shinies, or even your event-exclusive mons, from Gens 1 & 2 right up to the latest Generation.
