Yeah I was honestly really surprised that the final product was actually better than the whole beta concept. It wasn't perfect of course (Team Star storyline is still pretty damn weak), but all the concept stuff about Arven and the champion/professor was so much more boring than what we ended up getting. Making Area Zero a crater instead of islands was also a great change.
As you said, hope this quality keeps up if the same writers are still on board.

It's impossible to plug all holes since they left a lot of them open on purpose, but we have a satisfying amount of explanations in my opinion, even if the DLC could've used more content about Area Zero specifically.

Basically the same, except Jacq was in place of Penny in one draft, and the protagonist’s dad was simultaneously in place of Geeta, the AI professor, and Penny (as the team star boss) in an older version. Your dad was going to give you Terapagos at the end of the game after you defeated him, and then would cease to exist in a timespace rift.

Also the drafts unambiguously state that the paradoxes and raidons are summoned from the past/future, at every point in development. The paradise of Area Zero was going to be an island that either actually looked like a prehistoric plain or a futuristic city depending on version, having been activated by Terapagos from just being a wasteland.

No, but there were some terms to the peace treaty that were a mild inconvenience to the Empire like the official ban on Talos worship that was never actually enforced.
QRD Thalmor were on the cusp of losing the war so they sued for peace by invading the Imperial City, Empire accepted the peace terms because the terms didn't matter and once the treaty ended the Empire would wipe out the Thalmor anyways thanks to the Empire's faster rate of recovery over the elves. The Thalmor knew they'd be screwed once the treaty ended so they sent Ulfric, who was a PoW they effectively brainwashed, to start a civil war in Skyrim which would weaken the Empire and effectively buy the Thalmor more time.

I seriously wonder if SVs story being actually good was just pure luck/coincidence or if they restructured the whole writing team or some shit. I mean compared to SwSh, it's fucking high literature. And I don't say this to praise SV, I say this to show how abysmal SwSh's writing was.

Considering how much better ZA's writing is (from a character standpoint, the story is whatever) they've definitely made some shift. It's weird to see Pokemon characters talking like real people.

I've heard that from gen 2 to gen 8, it was the same guy responsible for the writing. But I've never seen any actual proof for that so I have no idea if that's really true. But yeah like you said, ZAs writing certainly ain't half bad either, so something must've changed.
