Not at all. We know a couple of things about the characters, like their family background. Lida barely talks about dancing, Naveen barely talks about sewing, etc. They both talk smack against you and each other regularly.

No they don't. They regularly refer to you as strong, dependable, and the one who gets things done. They consider you to be more competent than Taunie, and feel bad for you being the workhorse of Team MZ. Taunie glazes you from the moment you step into Lumiose to the moment you beat her in the 45th match in the Infinite Royale. Every character pictured in OP all are obsessed with the protagonist.

Yes they do. Naveen is mean to you because of your attitude towards Canari, for example. He also calls Urbain/Taunie's cooking an affront to nature or something. Urbain/Taunie teases Naveen by intentionally calling Canari by the wrong name cause they know it gets a rise out of him. Lida often raises a literal eyebrow at what the others are saying. Both make fun of Lida for being gullible. Urbain/Taunie goes against his promise and takes Floette even if you beat them.
I could go on forever. Replay XY, seriously. You clearly just forgot how bad it was.

I did replay XY, right before Z-A dropped. That's why I'm so confused as to why the XY friends are cited as one note when the Z-A characters are just as bad. Why is it different when Lida raises an eyebrow at whats being said vs when Trevor shows a similar confusion over Shauna wanting to nickname someone she just met, or when Tierno shows skepticism over the Ghost House? Shauna talks about loving puzzles and trainer PR videos, does that mean she's a better character than you're giving her credit for?

Felt like they were taking their inevitable losses harder than most rivals, and after the 3rd gym nothing had happened in forever, it would be the perfect time to spice up the plot and also give someone else a megastone, because the player having it an no one else (until the final battles) was crazy, right?

That's why the debt exponentially spirals out of control very quickly, the writers knew you'd just ask "but wait, wouldn't that just take a couple of nights of participating in the Battle Royale?" and they answered by making it that before you could even blink twice, the debt has accumulated interest that puts it at a million, and then it'll skyrocket even harder the next time you look it could be even more than that.
It's basically their solution to the Persona 5 question of "why can't Joker just use his billions of yen from running over shadows in Mementos to pay off the Kaneshiro debt?" but instead of "because it's shady money and only a select few are willing to accept it because they're shady people" it's what I just described.

Why do you people all overexaggerate characters with the depth of a puddle because they have one or two character traits. Seriously, I just do not understand it, do you not consume any other media where a character having even a single negative aspect exists?

Does them doing this in game at all elicit that much of a mind breaking surprise that you people need to pretend like it's some master class of characterization? Every single character in this game is insanely one dimensional, but people act like they're straight out of Shakespeare. The characters are the same level of simple as previous XY characters, but the only difference is that they have more dialogue rather than 10 lines before you're mandatory rival battle.
