Also, I lived in Brazil for a bit due to work, I can give a few pointers, the young "blind snakes" as they were called, are completely pink and are not too uncommon to find in places with moist dirt or places with plenty of roots. The adults tend to be darker in color, from a dark grey to almost black sometimes, although seeing an adult one is pretty rare. Despite not being dangerous per say, these things do have teeth, and they will try to bite you if you get close. They also have tiny vestigial eyes that don't work and the female feeds her own outer layer of skin to her babies, which is why they have teeth, they literally bite the skin off their mother.
