Enough time has passed, regional variants have turned from something cool into something bad for the series. If i had a choice, regional variant would be the last thing I would give to a favorite mon. All they do is simply give the new form better treatment while the old one simply rots.

Example: H!Samurott vs Regular
>H gets Sharpness
>H gets a move the auto sets up spikes and gets boosted by Sparpness
>H gets better stat distribution
>H gets a more interesting typing
During alola it didnt seem like the new forms were all that superior to the old ones so they all had time to shine but that philosophy has been thrown out the window. I just cant see it as something positive anymore because it doesnt really give anything to the older pokemon. Farfetch'd as another example. The old one is still useless while all the glory goes to its galarform.
