y it kind of does suck that the devs view my favorite type as something that isn't cool or marketable. They never make cool, story relevant, or marketable characters that people like to represent it,
As a fellow steel fan it does suck, but unlike many instances of Game Freaks fuck ups, it doesn’t feel intentional. It’s seems to be more a a consequence of steel being a rare type, meaning a character is less likely to have one. And steel considered strong enough that the few characters that get them tend to be later in the game.
Though the fact the many steel types are robotic, inorganic, or “worse” object mons (the latter is often considered the cardinal sin for some reason) doesn’t help steel’s case to be given to a “shillable” character. even Jasmine’s Steelix pretty much shares its place as Jasmine’s main mom with the Amphy despite the latter not being owned by her.
