Like what? The only semi-popular one to get a truly dogshit one is Feraligatr and gatrfags really overestimate how "popular" it is in the first place. Kalos starters were far more anticipated and they got great ones.

Feraligatr, Dragonite, Starmie and Skarmory, have all gotten extremely mixed reactions from people. Even if people like the memes from Starmie, they'll always say they wished the design was something else. This is not to mention the dogshit megas that non popular mons like pyroar have gotten. Only Kalos starters have gotten universally liked designs. And thats a failure with 26 new designs added

There is a strong bias toward the old megas, as if many of them weren’t completely shat on upon release for similar reasons. Aerodactyl and Sharpedo were hated for just adding more lines and spikes. Slowbro was hated for being a retarded joke. Heracross was hated for taking an existing beloved design and turning it goofier. Lati@s were hated for changing the shape and homogenizing the color scheme of the duo. A shocking number of people hated Mega X for being “too edgy/pandering” for instance. Gardevoir, one of the most beloved megas now, was completely shat on when it was first shown by early XY leakers, with people calling it obese, an onion, etc. and mocking the design.

They suck not because the idea is bad but because they pretty much replace the original mon. Raichu was saved from this since it got got a mega, but prior to this it was basically fucked over in favor of alolachu instead. Plenty of other examples too. I use to want regionals for my favs but not anymore

Wait 5 years and all the NPCs will suddenly start thinking the ZA megas are well designed. The only genuinely badly designed ones are Pyroar and Feraligatr. Most of the gen 6 megas were shat on too until enough time passed.
