I've really been enjoying Z/A ranked. Current team is this:
Hippowdon (Assault Vest) - Earthquake, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Heavy Slam.
Medicham (Medichamite) - Brick Break, Close Combat, Ice Punch, Aerial Ace.
Simisear (Charcoal) - Flare Blitz, Overheat, Heat Wave, Work Up.
Hippowdon is super reliable, had it on my team since the start of season 1; fairly tanky, but not too passive. Heavy Slam is there since it one-shots the occasional Gardevoir and Diancie (Heavy Slam + Earthquake knocks out Glaceon too). Thunder Fang is mainly there for Gyarados. I used Passcho Berry in season 1 for Gyarados, but replaced it with Assault Vest because I was getting owned by Solar Beam from fire types + Xerneas Moonblast.
Mega Medicham's fun. I initially gave it Brick Break because I wanted to destroy screens, but in practice, that almost never happens, it's just a fast stab move. Aerial Ace is super fun; it comes out really fast, so it's great for when you're in a 1v1 and your previous attack just barely didn't kill.
I've been rotating random crap in the third team slot, with Simisear being the latest since I needed something for Steel types (Skarmory especially). Simisear's serviceable for that. I find mixed sets really fun, so it has 252 atk EVs and 252 sp.atk EVs.
>>58657245I tried Garbodor too. Gunk Shot just feels so awkward, especially when Xerneas moves so fast, although the times where you do one-shot it feels great. I liked giving it Life Orb + Rollout so it can at least one-shot unsuspecting Charizard
>>58659303>Psychic's been the worst move so farI took Zen Headbutt off my Medicham for what is probably the same reason - was barely running into pokemon that are weak to psychic. You could maybe try Psyshock since it'll do a bit more against Mega Beedrill/Gengar?
