I bought a Pokémon platinum game that was supposed to have everything and be in close to perfect condition and I’m just wondering what goes in this empty slot

As stated it's for your GBA game.
And if you didn't know, having a GBA Pokemon game in your DS's GBA slot will unlock certain encounters in certain places. If you're playing on a DSi or 3DS you're shit out of luck unfortunately.
