I rediscovered this song after like 15 years. I haven't heard it since I was a kid on early youtube, where I was equally baffled. What was Masuda thinking? I think you have to listen to it in full quality directly off of the Super Music Collection to truly understand how ear-rapey it is. If you have it downloaded or physically, give it a listen sometime.

It's my theory that they purposefully kneecapped the soundtrack (and really that entire game) to put focus on the real remake PLA. It sounds crazy but the same goes on in Masters where we only got not-quite-right schizoid remixes.
