That said, I didn't call Croconaw a jobmon, but a hypothetical Mega Feraligatr expanding on these themes. I see very few ways the design could go without placing it firmly into jobmon territory.
I also think you focus a bit too strongly on the literal reading of jobmon. It isn't about careers strictly, but the pokémon characterizing any sort of human activity, being a caveman would fall under this.
