>>58670543I'm the same, moon/ultra sun are the last I played. It's clear nothing in Gen 8 or 9 is worth playing, and Paldea in particular has an especially atrocious pokedex.
I enjoyed X the first time around, no doubt. 3D, the introduction of Mega Evolution, it was exciting. But anytime I've tried to replay Kalos it bores me.
I haven't replayed Moon nor Ultra Sun so I wonder how my feelings on the games might change if I did. For now, I think of Alola as being a strict improvement over Kalos. Especially dex wise, many of Alola's pokemon just ooze enthusiasm in the sense that you can feel that reinvigorated passion from the artists. That feeling that behind Alola's cast of pokemon is a team of people with real care and investment. A team considering things like "What is this pokemon's role in the ecosystem?" or "Why does this pokemon thrive on this island and not others?"
