SV shiny hunting is one of the fastest/easiest ways to hunt for shinies, and if you're doing a mass outbreak with a shiny sandwich, you can get 1-3 shinies in half an hour. Reseting for a particular mass outbreak can take some time (getting a feebas mass outbreak took me about 2 hours), but once that's taken care of you can get lots of shiny pokemon at that high rate.
But, there's no sparkle animation or sound like Arceus has, so if the shiny is really similar to the base or the pokemon is just really small (or both), you're gonna burn your own eyes out looking every Charcadet in the eyes or doubting yourself over whether that Tandemaus is actually shiny. It's still relatively relaxing and easy, just coasting around, keeping your eyes open. It can feel like a grind though if you're not using sandwiches and are getting particularly unlucky, but we're still talking about getting the shiny in something like under 3 hours at worst.
The DLC is pretty fun, and as for shinies, you get access to most of the starters and also the Ball Machine, alongside the Mark Charm once you complete the Blueberry pokedex. Shiny+Mark is what I personally hunt for, so that's a big deal to me. The legendaries in the DLC are all shiny-locked, so I actually never even bothered catching any of them.
