I remember that very episode as well. He has Charizard blow a hole in the side of a mountain and all his pokemon huddle up for warmth. That was some real shit back then for a kids show. Another one that stuck with me was the giant tentacruel drowning and destroying a whole town, the show kind of glosses over how many people must have died.
A digimon moment that always stuck with me was Piedmon trying to stab TK with a sword, just straight murder, no laser or sillyness. That and turning half the cast into fucking keychains.

I don't know why because I barely remember anything but as someone who watched Digimon when it originally aired as a little kid, Piedmon stuck out for me as one of the scariest, most terrifying antagonists I've ever seen in anime.

Kanto and Johto self contained episode were when Pokemon anime was at it's best and I'M FUCKING LIVID that we lost it because retards screeched "uuuhhh muh filler so icky!!!".
I suppose some episodes in Alola were also neat as it's when Pokemon anime tried to return to more comfy adventure writing.

And more on-topic: The episode with Arbok and Weezing leaving TR was kind of fucked up. I'm surprised that they never came back, included that bizarre moment when at the end of Ashnime all old Pokemon of TR came back except specifically these two.
