I'd say his biggest hits are Pichu, Gengar, Snorlax, and Mewtwo. I like Reshiram, but he didn't come up with the draft. All his later designs feel mediocre.

What's not to get? They're cute and true to the Kanto roots in some ways. I can see what they probably asked for.

I just don't really like the gen 9 dex in general so it's probably just me not liking the new direction they've taken. I guess it wasn't that long ago she made Hisuian Zoroark

Tbf even though people always bring up how made the good iconic designs in Gen 1. They did confirm that the original 151 were designed as sprites first and Sugimori finalised them as the artworks he drew. So those crappy sprites were what the designers actually made

That said Sugimori’s confirmed designs are pretty mediocre. I like his artstyle more than his designs and I really hope this style isn’t phased out for 3D renders
