>>58702261Gen 1's glitchy as hell yes, but it's entirely stable, and most of the glitches and shit are backloaded like crazy. There's 0 risk of it crashing, dropping save files, not booting, etc... under 99.9% of all circumstances.
The only glitches youll encounter on a normal playthrough without specifically trying are largely unnoticeable shit like the Badge Boost glitch, Focus Energy, NPC movement behavior, etc.. The worst of it was in Jp Red and Green with a Sabrina softlock, but that got fixed before the western releases.
Otherwise its like, marginally glitchier than other games of its era. It just gets more flack for it because theres a million youtubers making "HOW BROKEN WAS GEN 1" garb videos rehashing the same known glitches a million times.
I've seen zoomers unironically refer to it as the glitchiest game of all time, which is just so wildly lacking in perspective. Notice how shit like SM64, OoT, Mario World, etc.. dont get the same degree of notoriety despite being equally if not more glitchy.
