>>58703604yes, i also had that a similar working theory as to why absols are dark-type despite the fact they are among the wisest, noblest, most selfless and least evil pokemon species overall (constantly risk their life to warn people who would not think twice of killing them, has justified as ability i.e. dislikes evil, is always depicted as heroic and loyal)
i know there's other dark-types that aren't "evil", but they are different, being at least tricksters, underhanded, violent or mean spirited
only exception i can think of is darkrai who, similarly, seems to only have some manner of ability to utilize/control bad vibes to give people nightmares instead of being evil
it's pretty clear absol has some control or very deep understanding of evilness and bad vibes, but is not evil at all itself
it's how it can sense impending doom, use dark moves and ultimately why it is dark-type
